Biographical Information

Misao Matsumoto signed with the Eagles club in 1937, and he was 1-7 with a 2.58 ERA in the spring season. He slumped to a 7.71 ERA in 6 games in the fall season, and he was turned into an outfielder. Matsumoto went 0-for-12 in the 1938 fall season, and he enlisted into the military so he missed the next three seasons. He returned in 1942 with a 1-10 record and a 3.32 ERA, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Matsumoto was 2-18 with a 3.40 ERA, struck out 33 and pitched 193 innings in 3 seasons in NPB.
