Biographical Information

Mikinori Kato played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years

Kato was 30-17 with a 2.14 ERA in the Tokyo Big6 Baseball League, and he set the team record by collecting 371 strikeouts in his career. He was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the first round of the 2007 NPB draft, and he went 0-2 with a 8.86 ERA in 2008. Kato suffered from a left shoulder injury, and he allowed 5 runs without retiring any batters in 2009. He was 1-1 with a 6.60 ERA in 2010, and he recorded a 9.00 ERA in 6 games in 2011. He announced his retirement in 2012.
