Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Matt Ellmyer played college ball at Wofford College from 2017-2020. He earned a degree in accounting and finance from Wofford.
Following college, Ellmyer started his journey into coaching as an intern with Cressey Sports Performance. He spent the summer of 2021 as a Player Development Associate in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Ellmyer then returned to Cressey where he stayed until early 2023.[1]
The Texas Rangers hired Ellmyer as a development coach for the ACL Rangers in 2023. He then moved back to the Phillies organization as a pitching coach for the Jersey Shore BlueClaws in 2024, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in 2025, and the Clearwater Threshers in 2026.
