Biographical Information

Masayuki Miura was drafted by the Taiyo Whales in the 6th round of the 1974 NPB draft, and he only got one at-bat in his first three seasons. He was 6-for-28 in 1979, and he went 0-for-5 in 1980. Miura announced his retirement in 1981, and he was a coach for the minor team of Taiyo/Yokohama BayStars from 1982 to 1984, from 1987 to 1989 and from 2001 to 2009. He was their battery coach for the big club from 1985 to 1986, and he became the battery coach for the SK Wyverns in 2009. He also coached the Tianjin Lions from 2010 to 2011, and he was the coach of Nobeoka Gakuen High School from 2017 to 2018.
