Biographical Information[edit]
Masaya Hagio has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Hagio won the Triple Crown in the Tokyo Big6 Baseball League in the 2022 fall season, and he represented Japan in the 2022 Haarlemse Honkbalweek (going 1 for 13 with a run). He was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the second round of the 2022 NPB draft; the scout was Ryota Wakiya. Hagio hit .283/.341/.440 with 7 homers in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2023, but he went 1-for-16 with the big club, getting his first hit off Hiroto Saiki. He then played 56 games with a .215/.272/.336 batting line as a backup outfielder for the top team in 2024; his first NPB homer came against Daisuke Sobue.
