Biographical Information

Masaru Sato was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the 6th round of the 2003 NPB draft, and he had a 5.24 ERA in 21 appearances in 2004. He notched 4 holds with a 3.16 EAR in 32 relief outings in 2005, and he recorded a 2.63 ERA in 13 games in 2006. Sato allowed 5 runs in 6 innings in 2007, and he pitched 24 games with a 3.24 ERA in 2008. He only got 6 more appearances for the top team, and he announced his retirement in 2011.

Overall, Sato was 1-1 with 10 holds and a 3.94 ERA, struck 91 and pitched 91 1/3 innings in 8 seasons in NPB.
