Masaru Oba (大場 勝)

Biographical Information[edit]

Masaru Oba was a catcher who represented Japan in the 1972 Amateur World Series. He led the tourney with a .415 average, .001 ahead of Wilfredo Sánchez, and with four steals (Calixto Vargas was at .424 but fell one plate appearance shy of qualifying). He played for Yamaha in the Industrial League.
