Biographical Information

Masaru Hamasaki signed with the Hankyu Braves in 1953, but he didn't reach the big club and he jumped to the Takahashi Unions. He hit .113/.137/.127 in 68 games as a backup middle infielder in 1954, and he announced his retirement. His father Shinji Hamazaki played and managed in NPB, and his uncle Tadaharu Hamasaki also played in NPB. Masaru and Shinji were the first father-son pair to play in NPB.
