Biographical Information

Masaoki Tanaka was drafted by the Orix BlueWave in the 5th round of the 1995 NPB draft, and he stayed in the minors in his first two seasons. He was 0-for-4 in 1998, and he went 2-for-13 in 1999. Tanaka played 23 games with a 2-for-10 record in 2001, and he announced his retirement. A frequent pinch-runner, he had more career runs (10) than hits (4) and was 3-for-3 in steal attempts.
