Biographical Information

Masakuni Odajima was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the 3rd round of the 2001 NPB draft, and he only played 4 games for the big club in 2002. He was 9-for-38 in 2003, and he went 11-for-51 in 2004. Odajima only got 8 at-bats in 2005, and he hit .205/.265/.432 in 26 games in 2006. The BayStars then traded him to the Yomiuri Giants for Toshihisa Nishi and cash, and he was 4-for-21 in 2007. Odajima was hitless in 5 at-bats in 2008, then he had a 4-for-21 record in 10 games in 2009. He went 3-for-14 in 2010, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Odajima hit .201/.251/.309 with 41 hits in 9 seasons in NPB.
