Masahiro Yoshikawa played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.
Yoshikawa represented Japan in the 1996 Asia Junior Championship. The Yakult Swallows selected him in the 8th round of the 2002 NPB draft, and he pitched 3 shutout innings in his first season for the big club. He had a 7.15 ERA in 10 games in 2004, and he broke out in 2005. Yoshikawa notched 20 holds with a 3.72 ERA in 61 relief outings, and he was 6th in the Central League in appearances (tied with Hirotoshi Ishii and Akifumi Takahashi) and 4th in holds (tied with Atsushi Kizuka). His ERA was 3.46 in 23 games in 2006, and he pitched 43 games with 10 holds and a 3.61 ERA in 2007. Yoshikawa got 4 holds with a 4.19 ERA in 18 games in 2008, then he had a 3.52 ERA in 8 games in 2009. However, his ERA rose to 10.00 in 2010, and he announced his retirement in 2011.
Overall, Yoshikawa went 7-6 with 40 holds in 176 games, struck out 112 and pitched 176 2/3 in 8 seasons in NPB.
