Biographical Information

Masahide Yone pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.

Yone represented Japan in the 1993 Asian Championship and 1993 Intercontinental Cup. In the latter event, he struck out 7 in 5 innings while allowing 4 runs (3 earned). The Yokohama BayStars drafted him in the second round of the 1994 NPB draft. Yone pitched 41 1/3 innings with a 4.57 ERA in his rookie year, but he slumped to 5.80 in 22 appearances in 1996. Yone spent the next three years in the NPB Farm Leagues, only had 13 appearances combined. He played a career-high 25 games with a solid 2.50 ERA in 2001, but his ERA rose to 5.00 in 2002. Yone announced his retirement after the 2002 season.

Overall, Yone was 4-4 with a 4.44 ERA and pitched 154 innings in 7 seasons in NPB.
