Biographical Information[edit]
Mark Randall pitched in the minor leagues and for Team Canada.
Randall was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 23rd round of the 1989 Amateur Draft, and he was 2-2 with 13 saves and a 2.51 ERA for the Martinsville Phillies in his first season. He collected 7 saves with a 2.44 ERA in 32 games for the Spartanburg Phillies in 1990, and he pitched 16 games with a 8.31 ERA and 3 saves for the Clearwater Phillies. Randall was 4-7 with 5 saves in Spartanburg in 1991, and his ERA was 3.65 in 43 relief outings. He then improved to a 2.88 ERA in 33 games with 6 saves in Clearwater in 1992, and his ERA was 1.82 in 20 appearances with 10 saves in Spartanburg. However, Randall struggled in Clearwater as his ERA rose to 5.11 in 52 games with 8 saves and a 6-8 record in 1993, and he left the Phillies system.
The Hamilton native next appeared with the Allentown Ambassadors in 1996, and he got 8 saves with a 1.77 ERA in 26 games. He was 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 1997, then he represented Canada in the 1998 Baseball World Cup, 1999 Pan American Games and 2001 Baseball World Cup. He was a coach for Team Canada in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, and he pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings for the Edmonton Cracker-Cats in 2006. Randal also coached for Canada in the 2007 Baseball World Cup.
