Biographical Information[edit]

Shortstop Mark Kuecker was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the first round of the 1976 amateur draft. He debuted with the 1977 Cedar Rapids Giants and hit .264/~.338/.391. Promoted to the Waterbury Giants, Kuecker batted just .213/~.302/.287 while striking out 89 times. Moving to the Phoenix Giants in 1979, Mark wound up his career with a .242/~.323/.313, 94 strikeouts and 36 errors. He did lead the Pacific Coast League with 11 sacrifice flies that season.
