Biographical Information

Manabu Okubo was drafted by the Nankai Hawks in the 2nd round of the 1982 NPB draft, and he was 2-1 with a 4.76 ERA in 1983. He had a 8.35 ERA in 12 games in 1985, and he only pitched one more game for the big club before he announced his retirement in 1988. Okubo later coached OISCA Hamamatsu Kokusai High School from 2016 to 2018, and Josuikan High School named him their new coach in 2019.
