Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Mamoru Miyoshi played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.
Miyoshi signed with the Nishitetsu Lions in 1961, and he only got 13 at-bats combined in his first two seasons. He went 9-for-38 in 1963, and he played 66 games with a .171/.232/.171 batting line in 1964. Miyoshi then recorded a .214/.254/.304 batting line in 1965, and he hit .219/.257/.333 in 114 games in 1966. He collected 22 steals with a .227/.272/.333 batting line in 1967, and he tied Masuho Maeda for 4th in steals in the Pacific League. However, he lost his spot after Isao Hirono joined the team in 1968, and he went 3-for-18 before he announced his retirement.
Overall, Miyoshi hit .214/.258/.302 with 166 hits and 12 homers in 8 seasons in NPB.
