Biographical Information[edit]
Naoyasu Hiroshima played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 4 years.
Hiroshima signed with the Chunichi Dragons in 1958, and he had a 5.63 ERA in 8 appearances in his first season. He went 4-4 with a 2.10 ERA in 1959, and he had a 15-11 record with a 2.24 ERA in 1960. He was 4th in ERA in the Central League (between Ryohei Hasegawa and Gentaro Shimada), 6th in strikeouts (between Noboru Akiyama and Hajimu Tatsumi) and 8th in wins (tied with Hiroomi Oyane). Hiroshima then went 0-4 with a 2.87 ERA in 1961, and he moved to the Hiroshima Carp. However, he failed to return to the top team in 1962, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Hiroshima was 19-19 with a 2.66 ERA, struck out 254 and pitched 385 innings in 4 seasons in NPB.
