Lukáš Macek was a middle infielder in the Extraliga and was on the Czech national team.

He hit .264/.391/.396 for Olympia Blansko in 1997 and .304/.403/.339 in 1998. In '99, he was at .368/.442/.500 with 12 steals in 12 tries but fell to 1-for-12 with a walk in the postseason. He was 7th in swipes. He batted .269/.356/.378 in 2000, fielding .898. He eked out a .129/.229/.194 line in the postseason. He improved to .337/.421/.611 in 2001 with 28 RBI in 27 games, fielding .898 again. He tied for 8th in HBP (5) and tied Jiří Víšek and Michal Břeň for 6th in doubles (11). In the playoffs, he batted .643/.737/1.429 with 8 runs and 8 RBI in four games. With the Czech squad for the 2001 European Championship, he hit .269/.424/.346 with 8 runs in 8 games, fielding .935; he was one run behind team leader Michal Műller.

He slipped on the slugging front while posting a nearly identical average and OBP in 2002, with a .336/.424/.434 batting line. He was 4-for-11 with a walk in the playoffs. He tied for 7th with 6 HBP and tied Jiří Aubrecht for 4th with 12 steals. He hit .328/.370/.380 in 2003 with 15 steals in 19 tries and was 0-for-4 with two walks in the playoffs. He was 5th in stolen bases and tied Ivo Kučera for 2nd in hits (45, one behind Tomáš Ovesný). He hit .269/.346/.361 and fielded .881 in '04 (tying for 4th with 3 triples) then was at .258/.418/.275 in 2005, fielding .924. His 30 walks did tie František Kučera and Pavel Budský for the lead. He rebounded to .304/.385/.370 in 2006, tying Budský for third in hits (42). He was only 4-for-36 with a double and three walks in 2007 then resurfaced briefly in 2012 (13-for-33) to finish his career at .299/.387/.389 in 255 games. He scored 218 runs and stole 89 bases.
