Biographical Information[edit]

Lorenzo Moretti debuted for the Hungarian national team in the 2025 European Championship. In his lone game, he relieved Levente Horváth with a 18-2 deficit, the bases loaded and one out in the 5th inning of a blowout loss to Austria. He retired Tobias Werner but hit Philipp Eckel, served up a grand slam to Sammy Hackl, yielded a Moritz Scheicher dinger and allowed a Justin Fürböck single. He then switched spots with 2B Carlos Rubio and struck out against Alexander Kienberger. The game ended after 5 due to the mercy rule. Among pitchers who recorded an out, three hurlers had higher ERAs in the event (two of them fellow Hungarian team members). [1]
