Biographical Information

Kuniyuki Taniguchi was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the first round of the 1997 NPB draft after they lost the lottery for the rights to Tomoya Kawaguchi. He only pitched one game in his first three seasons with the big club, then he went 3-3 with a 4.12 ERA in 2001. Taniguchi was 1-6 with a 4.55 ERA in 2002, but he only pitched one more game with the top team in 2004 before he announced his retirement in 2005.
