Biographical Information

Kouki Kajiwara has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Kajiwara was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the 6th round of the 2021 NPB draft; the scout was Mitsunori Kakehata. He debuted on April 22, 2023, and he got his first career home run against Shosei Togo. Kajiwara was the first Central League rookie to get four hits in his first game, and he was the first rookie in NPB history to collect 4 hits include a homer on his debut. He ended up having a 4-for-15 record with the top team, and he hit .270/.315/.395 in the minors. Kajiwara then went 12-for-53 in 2023, and he got a starting outfielder spot in 2024. He hit .292/.314/.392 with 4 homers and 16 steals, and he was 2nd in steals (3 behind Koji Chikamoto). Had he qualified, he would ranked 4th in batting in the CL, between Shugo Maki and Shogo Akiyama. Kajiwara hit .333/.370/.333 with 4 RBI in the 2024 Nippon Series, and the BayStars beat the Softbank Hawks in 6 games.
