Biographical Information[edit]
Koji Ano was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 2nd round of the 1969 NPB draft, and he went 2-for-11 in 1970. He then hit .218/.286/.317 in 49 games in 1971, and he had a 6-for-25 record in 1972. Ano only got 11 more at-bats for the big club, and he announced his retirement in 1976. Ano also won the batting title of the Eastern League in 1974. He later coached in the Giants system from 1977 to 1991.
