Biographical Information

Koichi Eda was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the 4th round of the 1972 NPB draft, and he had a 5.33 ERA in 14 games in his first season. His ERA was 4.24 in 16 appearances in 1973, and he stayed in the minors in the next two seasons. Eda went 6-3 with a 3.07 ERA in 1977, but he slumped to 0-3 with a 6.47 ERA in 1978. He had a 4.50 ERA in 10 relief outings in 1979, and he announced his retirement.
