Biographical Information[edit]
Kiyoshi Uchiyama played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Uchiyama signed with the Osaka Tigers in 1948, and he went 2-3 with a 4.50 ERA in his first season. He struggled in 1949 as he went 5-5 with a 5.94 ERA, and he had a 12-15 record with a 4.46 ERA in 1950. Uchiyama tied Shigeru Sugishita and Akira Takahashi for 10th in losses in the Central League. He was 10-5 with a 3.34 ERA in 1951, and he pitched 30 games with a 3.71 ERA in 1952. Uchiyama only had 5 more appearances for the top team before he announced his retirement in 1954. He later coached Kawaguchi Municipal High School and Kawaguchi Technical High School.
Overall, Uchiyama was 31-29 with a 4.32 ERA, struck out 123 and pitched 589 innings in 7 seasons in NPB.
