Biographical Information[edit]
Kio Sakamoto signed with the Nagoya Dragons in 1953, but he only got one at-bat in his first three seasons. He went to the Takahashi Unions in 1956, and he hit .197/.235/.197 in 60 games, Sakamoto then recorded a .214/.278/.281 batting line in 96 games for the Daiei Unions in 1957 (he was their most-used shortstop that year), and he returned to the Dragons in 1958. He didn't reach the big club that season, and he announced his retirement.
