Biographical Information[edit]

Kevin Shannon played in the minor leagues and for the USA national baseball team.

Shannon was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 6th round of the 1977 Amateur Draft, but he didn't sign and went to college. He represented the USA in the 1979 Intercontinental Cup. The New York Yankees picked him in the 14th round of the 1980 Amateur Draft, and he hit .230/.431/.263 in 60 games for the Oneonta Yankees in 1980. He slumped to .182/.296/.201 in 66 games for the Fort Lauderdale Yankees in 1981, and he also played 28 games with a .134/.263/.164 batting line for the AA Nashville Sounds then his professional career ended.
