Biographical Information

Catcher Kesanori Kurashima signed with the Kokutetsu Swallows in 1964, and he was 2-for-10 in his first season. He had a 3-for-16 record in 1965 (when the team became the Sankei Swallows), and he only played 10 games combined in the next two seasons, though he hit his only home run. The club was now the Sankei Atoms. Kurashima hit .262/.326/.286 in 38 games in 1968, then he slumped to .195/.233/.195 in 1969 and he announced his retirement. Most of his games appear to have been as a pinch-hitter.
