Kesaharu Misawa played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 11 years.
Misawa signed with the Toei Flyers in 1963, and he went 9-for-49 in his first season. He only got 25 at-bats combined in the next three seasons, and he was 11-for-51 in 1967. Misawa hit .198/.255/.264 in 70 games in 1968, and he improved to .379/.439/.534 in 1969. He collected 26 hits as a pinch-hitter to break the NPB record, and it was still the Pacific League record as of 2024. Misawa's batting line fell to .114/.133/.182 in 1970, and he soon bounced back with a .306/.451/.486 batting line in 1971. He played 80 games with a .264/.380/.363 batting line in 1972, and he batted .222/.309/.236 in 1973. Misawa was 4-for-29 in 1974, and he announced his retirement. He later scouted for the Flyers/Nippon Ham Fighters, signing Makoto Shimada, Noriaki Okabe, Hiroaki Matsuura, Kazuyuki Shirai and Tetsuro Hirose.
Overall, Misawa hit .247/.334/.332 with 155 hits and 10 homers in 11 seasons in NPB.
