Biographical Information

Kenta Tanigawara has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball. His uncle Hidenori Tanoue also played in NPB.

Tanigawara was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 3rd round of the 2015 NPB draft, the scout was Kenichi Yamazaki. He stayed in the minors in his first five seasons, and he played 59 games with a .146/.255/.229 batting line in 2021. Tanigawara improved to .234/.324/.359 in 202, and he hit .233/.256/.283 in 61 games in 2023. He mainly stayed in the minors in 2024, and he only got 9 at-bats for the big club. When starting catcher Takuya Kai left the team in 2025, Tanigawara returned to the top team and he hit .264/.329/.486 in 72 at-bats.
