Biographical Information[edit]
Kenichi Kawazu played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.
Kawazu signed with the Osaka Tigers in 1953, and he only got 2 at-bats combined for the top team in his first three seasons. He hit .194/.245/.320 in 1956, and he went 5-for-36 in 1957. Kawazu then recorded a .244/.321/.390 batting line in 1958, and he went to the Toei Flyers. He played 59 games with a .196/.252/.308 batting line in 1959, and he struggled again at the plate as his batting line was .192/.250/.282 in 1960. Kawazu hit .244/.294/.401 in 78 games in 1961, and the Flyers released him. He signed with the Nankai Hawks, and he recorded a .246/.292/.311 batting line in 31 games in 1962. He was 7-for-43 in 1963, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Kawazu hit .216/.276/.329 with 161 hits and 14 homers in 9 seasons in NPB.
