Biographical Information[edit]
Kenichi Akagi signed with the Kokutetsu Swallows in 1959, and he hit .210/.250/.238 in 54 games in his first season. He struggled again in 1960 as his batting line was .172/.209/.241 in 61 games, and he recorded a .269/.337/.436 batting line in 1961. Akagi was 4-for-31 in 1962, and he had a 2-for-23 record in 1963 then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Akagi hit .198/.239/.265 with 64 hits in 5 seasons in NPB.
