Keito Mori has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Mori represented Japan in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup, hitting .320/.500/.480 with 9 walks and 9 runs in 8 games. He handled 12 chances error-free in the outfield. He tied Pete Crow-Armstrong for 6th in runs, was second in walks (3 behind Wentao Zhang) and tied Shun-Ho Wang for 3rd in triples (2). [1] He was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the first round of the 2019 NPB draft; the scout was Shigeo Inamine. Mori hit .210/.260/.280 in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2020, and he went 3-for-12 with the big club. He then played 44 games with the big club in 2021, but his batting line was .194/.241/.272. Mori then hit .255/.289/.298 in 14 games in 2022, and he went 2-for-12 in 2023 before a right hand fracture ended his season. He finally broke out in 2024, and he collected 8 steals with a .251/.295/.326 batting line as Yokohama's starting shortstop. He started at short in all 6 games of the 2024 CLCS final stage against the Yomiuri Giants, and he went 4-for-18 with a clutch game-tying RBI triple against Shosei Togo in Game 6. Mori was 6-for-20 with 5 walks in the 2024 Nippon Series, and the BayStars beat the Softbank Hawks in 6 games.
