Biographical Information

Kazuyoshi Kimura played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.

Kimura was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 2nd round of the 1999 NPB draft, and he was 9-for-40 in 2000. He had a .236/.295/.264 batting line in 2001, and he improved to .314/.362/.420 in 109 games in 2002. Kimura then recorded a .265/.282/.319 batting line in 2003, then he slumped to .146/.239/.146 in 2004. He only got 47 at-bats combined in the next three seasons, and the Carp released him in 2007. The Rakuten Golden Eagles signed him, but he was 0-for-10 in 2008 to end his NPB career. Kimura later played for the independent Fukui Nexus Elephants of the Baseball Challenge League in 2009.

Overall, Kimura hit .261/.309/.332 with 153 hits and 6 homers in 9 seasons in NPB.
