Biographical Information

Kazutomo Iguchi has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Iguchi won a MVP in the Hokkaido Universities Baseball League, and he represented Japan in the 2015 Universiade. He was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the 3rd round of the 2015 NPB draft, and he collected 4 holds with a 3.86 ERA in 37 games in his first season. He pitched a shutout inning in each of the 2016 Nippon Series Game 2 and Game 6, and he won his first title as the Fighters beat the Hiroshima Carp in 6 games. Iguchi slumped to a 5.16 ERA in 17 games in 2017, then he had a 2.48 ERA in 31 games in 2018. He got 7 holds with a 2.53 ERA in 32 appearances in 2019, and his ERA rose to 4.10 in 29 games in 2020.

The Yokohama native bounced back soon, and his ERA was 1.86 in 41 games with 11 holds in 2021. He struggled again in 2022 as his ERA rose to 5.18 in 23 appearances, and he only pitched 5 games with the big club in 2023. He was released after the 2023 season, and the Orix Buffaloes signed him. Iguchi pitched 32 games with 3 holds in 2024, and his ERA was 4.18.

Iguchi's repertoire featured a fastball that peaks at 95.1 mph, a slider, forkball, cutter and a curveball.
