Biographical Information

Kazuo Yabumoto pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.

Yabumoto signed with the Daiei Stars in 1950, but he only pitched one game in his first season. He had a solid 1.96 ERA in 16 appearances in 1951, and he went 6-4 with a 3.65 ERA in 1952. Yabumoto improved to 6-2 with a 2.00 ERA in 1953, then he had a 1-2 record with a 4.22 ERA in 1954. His ERA was 3.07 in 8 relief outings in 1955, and he failed to return to the top team before he announced his retirement in 1957.

Overall, Yabumoto was 14-11 with a 2.85 ERA, struck out 94 and pitched 300 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
