Biographical Information

Kazumitsu Okamoto was drafted by the Hankyu Braves in the 7th round of the 1969 NPB draft, and he spent his first seven seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues; he only got 22 at-bats combined for the big club. Okamoto led the Western League in RBI in 1977. He hit .237/.336/.392 in 64 games in 1979, and he slumped to .154/.185/.423 in 1970. Okamoto only got 2 more at-bats for the top team, and he announced his retirement in 1982.
