Biographical Information[edit]
Kazumasa Azuma was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the 4th round of the 2000 NPB draft, and he allowed 7 runs in 3 innings in 2001. He pitched 28 games with a 7.56 ERA in 2002, and he allowed 13 runs in 8 1/3 innings in 2003. Azuma won the ERA title of the Eastern League that season. He surrendered 9 runs in 5 innings in 2004, and he was traded with Masahiro Tazaki to the Seibu Lions for Yoshihiro Doi. Azuma only pitched 12 more games for the Lions, and he announced his retirement in 2008.
