Biographical Information[edit]
Kazuma Sato has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Sato was drafted by the Orix Buffaloes in the first round of the development phase in the 2019 NPB draft; the scout was Takaharu Nakagawa.[1] He suffered from waist injuries, so he only pitched 4 games in the NPB Farm Leagues in each of his first two seasons. Sato was 2-5 with a 5.96 ERA in 2022, and he improved to 8-3 with a 3.94 ERA in 2023. He extended his solid performance in the minors as he was 4-7 with a 1.92 ERA in 2024, and he made his NPB debut on June 9. He got the win in his first game, but his ERA was 5.40 in 5 appearances for the top team that season. Sato then went 10-3 with a 1.83 ERA in 2025, and he led the Western League in wins. He also started 3 games for the big club, but his ERA was 6.75.
