Biographical Information[edit]

Kazuhiro Ishiguro played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.

Ishiguro hit .288 with three homers in his college career, and he won three best nine awards in a row. He signed with the Tokyo Orions in 1964, and he hit .256/.327/.418 with 13 homers in his first season. He broke Shinya Sasaki's Pacific League rookie record with 29 doubles in a season, and he was 4th in doubles (tied with Masahiro Doi). Ishiguro was moved from short to second base after Hiroyuki Yamazaki joined the team, and his batting line fell to .223/.332/.385. Ishiguro struggled again in 1966 as he had a .186/.259/.254 batting line. He bounced back in 1967 with 18 doubles and a .239/.278/.368 batting line, then he hit .265/.352/.471 in 79 games in 1968. However, he slumped to .188/.235/.313 in 1969, and he announced his retirement after he went 2-for-14 in 1970.

Overall, Ishiguro hit .234/.305/.374 with 334 hits and 42 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
