Biographical Information

Kazuhiko Takano signed with the Toei Flyers in 1958, and he only pitched 3 games in his first season. He was 4-5 with a 2.56 ERA in 42 games in 1959, and he went 9-12 with a 2.68 ERA in 1960. Takano tied Joe Stanka and Tsutomu Kuroda for 8th in losses in the Pacific League. He had a 3.77 ERA in 13 appearances 1961, and he missed the next two seasons due to shoulder injury and he announced his retirement in 1963.

Overall, Takano went 14-18 with a 2.76 ERA, struck out 161 and pitched 306 2/3 innings in 4 seasons in NPB.
