Biographical Information

Katsuzo Ito signed with the Dai Tokyo club in 1936, and he was the first player-manager in NPB history. He was 4-for-13 in the spring season, and he went 7-for-32 in the fall season. Ito then announced his retirement, and he enlisted into the military.
