Biographical Information[edit]
Kaname Miyazaki played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years. His son Takeshi Miyazaki played for the Japan national baseball team.
Miyazaki signed with the Nishitetsu Clippers as a player-manager in 1950, and he hit .294/.353/.376 with 16 steals in his first season. The Clippers then merged with the Nishi-Nihon Pirates, and Miyazaki played 102 games with a .224/.299/.285 batting line in 1951. He slumped to .202/.256/.262 in 1952, and he batted .196/.262/.257 in 1953. Miyazaki went 0-for-3 in 1954, and he announced his retirement. He was a coach for Nishitetsu from 1955 to 1957
Overall, Miyazaki hit .245/.311/.314 with 252 hits and 7 homers in 5 seasons in NPB.
