Biographical Information[edit]
Juri Hara has pitched in the Nippon Pro Baseball.
Hara represented Japan in the 2011 BFA U-18 Baseball Championship. He was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the first round of the 2015 NPB draft after they lost lottery for the rights to Shun Takayama; the scout was Keiichi Sakai. He was 2-8 with a 5.91 ERA in 2016, then he had a 3-11 record with a 3.84 ERA in 2017. He ranked 3rd in losses in the Central League in '17 (between David Buchanan and Shoichi Ino) and 10th in strikeouts (tied with Kazuki Yabuta). Hara went 6-7 with a 3.09 ERA in 2018, and he had a 3-7 record with a 4.86 ERA in 2019. He suffered from injuries in 2020, so he only pitched 5 games.
The Hyogo native returned in 2021, and he was 3-1 with a 2.30 ERA. He started against the Orix Buffaloes in 2021 Nippon Series Game 5, and he allowed 2 runs in 5 2/3 innings. The Swallows beat their opponent in 6 games, and Hara won his first title. He was 8-7 with a 4.85 ERA in 2022, but he stayed in the minors for the entire 2023 season. Hara pitched 7 games in 2024, and his ERA was 1.80.
His repertoire consists of a fastball (peak time 93.8 mph), slider and shuuto.
