Biographical Informatipn[edit]

Jonathan Amaya allowed one unearned run in 7 1/3 IP in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup, walking 10 but fanning 9. The Panamanian hurler tied for third in the event in walks. [1] During the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he pitched one shutout inning against Colombia, walking two. [2] He then made it to Panama's senior national team for the 2023 Pan American Games Qualifier. His first outing, he relieved Davis Romero in the 8th with two on, two outs and a 6-4 deficit against Canada. He walked Michael Crouse to load them up but retired Wes Darvill to escape the jam. His other contest, he succeeded Luis Ramos in the 6th with a 5-0 lead over host Argentina. After walking Nicolás Alvarado, he whiffed Exequiel Talevi but Jacinto Cipriota doubled in a run and Agustín Tissera was plunked. Julio Denis relieved and let one inherited run in. Panama did win the event for a spot in the 2023 Pan American Games. [3]
