Biographical Information

Jonas Kreska joined twin brother Elias Kreska on the Austrian national team.

Jonas hit .167/.474/.167 in limited action as a 16-year-old with the Austrian Baseball League champion Wiener Neustadt Diving Ducks in 2021. He hit .500/.722/.500 in the 2021 U18 European Championship, leading in OBP. He was 3-for-9 with 4 walks, a HBP, 4 runs and 4 RBI in the 2022 Federation Cup, placing 5th in OBP. He batted .220/.387/.305 in the 2022 season (also going 2-0 with a 6.00 ERA) then .200/.421/.360 in 2023 and .250/.438/.354 in '24, the Diving Ducks winning the latter two titles. The next summer, he blossomed, batting .356/.443/.700 at age 19, with 26 runs and 30 RBI in 21 games as his team three-peated. He was 3rd in slugging (after Julian Faulhaber and Tobias Werner) while his twin brother was 3rd in average and OBP. He was 5th in OPS, tied for 6th in hits (32), tied for 5th in doubles (8), led in triples (4), tied for 4th in homers (5) and 3rd in RBI (after Faulhaber and Richard Alzinger).

In the 2025 U23 European Championship, he batted .294/.368/.471 with 5 runs in 5 games, fielding .958. He was 5th with 13 assists and tied for the lead with 3 doubles. He joined their senior team by the 2025 European Championship, starting at short. Hitting 8th in their opener, he smacked a two-run triple off Belgium's Drew Janssen his first time up and later added a two-run double off Ben Van Nuffel. He finished those Euros at .235/.316/.412 with 3 runs and 4 RBI in 6 games, fielding .875.
