Jiro Morioka (森岡 二朗)

Jiro Morioka was a Japanese politician.
Morioka was a governor in Japan from 1926 to 1930, was a member of the Japanese House of Peers and had roles in the government of Taiwan and Korea (both then under Japanese control). He was the first president of the Japanese Professional Baseball League and helped negotiate with the Army to keep the league active through World War II (though it eventually did shut down in 1945. In 1969, he was inducted to the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.
