Biographical Information[edit]
Jiro Miyazaki played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Miyazaki signed with the Kinki Great Ring in 1946, and he hit .228/.295/.288 in 103 games in his first season. He then jumped to the Utaka Red Sox of the Kyomin Baseball League, and he returned to the Japanese Professional Baseball League with the Taiyo Robins in 1949. Miyazaki hit .237/.264/.338 that season, and he improved to .273/.338/.324 with 17 steals in 1950. He then recorded a .271/.305/.378 batting line in 1951, and he batted .242/.271/.300 in 1952. Miyazaki only played 64 games with a .232/.277/.258 batting line in 1953, and he jumped to the Hiroshima Carp. However, he slumped to .150/.190/.150 in 1954, and he announced his retirement. He later coached Nishinomiya High School.
Overall, Miyazaki hit .248/.295/.312 with 488 hits and 17 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
