Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Mecate has been a college coach.
The Kansas City Royals took him in the 10th round of the January 1982 amateur draft out of junior college. He went on to Brigham Young. He coached Calipatria High School for 8 years and then was assistant coach at Imperial Valley College from 1996-2004. He was IVC head coach from 2005-2024.
