Biographical Information[edit]

Jillian Albayati has played for the USA women's national team.

She allowed one run in nine innings to help her high school win their divisional title, then was the first girl to start a CIF championship game. [1] In the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup, she hit third and played left in their opener. She struck out against Australia's Gen Beacom her first time up but walked the next two. Her first hit was off South Korea's Sayuri Ono. On the hill, she dominated Canada with a 3-hit shutout, beating Marylena Florio. She got her first strikeout against Tess Sawkins. The US won the 2023 group A portion; she was 2-for-6 with four walks, a double, run and 3 RBI. She tied for 8th in walks and tied Sarah Pengelly and Rosa del Castillo for the lead in complete games. [2]

In 2024, she made history as the first female baseball player at Cal State San Marcos and the first NCAA Division II player to play softball and baseball games on the same day; she had a 9.00 ERA in one inning for the season. [3] In the 2024 portion of the 2023-2024 WBWC, she helped hand Japan their first loss in 12 years, snapping a 39-game winning streak; in the US's 4-3 win, she smacked a three-run homer off two-time defending Women's Baseball World Cup MVP Ayami Sato. She started the title game against Japan on the mound and matched Miyu Shimizu over the first two innings, 0-0, but allowed four runs in the third and Kelsie Whitmore relieved; Albayati took the loss. In the final portion, she had a 6.00 ERA and had hit .385/.471/.615 with 7 RBI in 5 games. She tied for second in homers (one behind Alex Hugo), tied Iori Miura for 3rd in RBI and was sixth in slugging (between Miwa Naraoka and Remi Schaber). She did not make the All-World outfield as Miu Shiraishi, Naraoka and Sena Catterall were selected. [4]
