Biographical Information[edit]
Jakub Stefan has been on the Swiss national team.
He made his Ligue Nationale A debut in 2022, going 1 for 4 with two walks and a RBI, then hit .184/.256/.184 in 2024 (he spent 2023 in the Swiss minors), going 1 for 8 with a HBP and a run in the postseason. [1] He was 1 for 9 with a run for the Zürich Barracudas in the 2024 Federation Cup. [2] He was 1 for 5 with a walk, steal and a run in the 2025 Federation Cup. [3] That summer, he batted .211/.400/.263 in the regular season and was 4 for 16 with a HBP, double and a run in the finals. [4]
Stefan made the Swiss squad for the 2025 European Championship. He replaced Rafael Eigenmann behind the dish during a blowout loss to Italy; Nick Siemers batted for him. In their 11th/12th place upset win over France, he took over for Eigenmann in the 4th with a 1-0 deficit. He drew a walk from Quentin Moulin and scored as part of their big 7-run frame that powered them to their 11-3 win. He was retired his other two at-bats. He had 3 putouts and allowed 2 steals in 2 tries. [5]
